Jamie Olsen – 15U Black – Head Coach

Jamie is excited to be coaching with Park Girls Volleyball again this season!

Growing up in BC, Jamie spent her club days playing with BCO before moving to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta. During her time there, she competed in both competitive women’s and co-ed high-level recreation leagues, while also working with Campus Recreation, running and officiating multiple sports. After completing her B.PE and B.Ed degrees, she began teaching with Elk Island Public Schools and has been coaching both volleyball and basketball throughout her career.

While coaching at various junior and senior highs with both boys’ and girls’ teams, Jamie also gained valuable club experience with Park (in the early days as a co-ed club), NAVC, Park Elite, and, of course, Park Girls Volleyball. In her “free” time, she has stayed active in volleyball, playing in leagues—often with or against other Park coaches—both indoors and on the beach. Currently, she is also helping coach the Salisbury Composite High Junior Girls team.

Jamie’s coaching philosophy is centered around serving as both a mentor and guide. She prioritizes helping athletes develop confidence in themselves and their abilities, believing that self-belief fuels growth both on and off the court. She strives to create an environment where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, challenges are embraced, and athletes feel supported in their journeys. For her, true success is measured not only in wins, but in the progress of each individual and the strength of the team as a whole. She encourages athletes to push themselves while recognizing how their growth contributes to the success of the group. By fostering accountability, resilience, and teamwork, Jamie aims to develop athletes who are not only skilled players but also confident, self-aware individuals who lift up those around them.

Jamie is ready for the 2025/2026 season and is looking forward to working with both the athletes and her fellow coaches at Park Girls Volleyball!
